Terms of Use

Welcome to UppScanner. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the UppScanner mobile application and related services (the "App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use UppScanner. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2. License to Use the App
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use UppScanner for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code, except where permitted by law
- Use the App to violate any law or infringe the rights of others
- Interfere with or disrupt the App, its servers, or connected networks
3. Your Content and Responsibilities
- Ownership: You retain all rights to the documents, images, and content you scan, import, or create in the App ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of Your Content.
- Responsibility: You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the right to scan, store, process, and transmit it.
- Lawful Use: You agree not to use UppScanner to scan, store, or send content that is unlawful, fraudulent, infringing, or that you are not authorized to handle.
4. AI Features
- UppScanner offers optional AI-powered features (summarize, translate, simplify, table extraction, redaction suggestions, and document chat).
- AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purposes. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it.
- AI features must not be relied upon for legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
5. Fax Services
- Fax sending is a paid feature that consumes credits or requires a purchase.
- You are responsible for entering the correct destination number and for having the right to send the document.
- Delivery depends on third-party carriers and the recipient's fax line; we cannot guarantee successful transmission and are not liable for failed or delayed deliveries.
6. Subscriptions, Credits & Purchases
UppScanner offers a free tier, an auto-renewing PRO subscription (weekly, monthly, or annual), and consumable credits for AI and fax features.
- Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
- Managing & Canceling: You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Credits: Consumable AI and fax credits are non-refundable once used and do not expire unless stated otherwise.
- Refunds: Purchases are handled by Apple and Google; refund requests are subject to their respective policies.
- Price Changes: We may change prices; changes apply to future billing periods and will be communicated as required by the app stores.
7. Free Tier Limitations
The free tier may include limits such as a maximum number of stored documents, a limit on pages per scan, a limited allotment of AI credits, and watermarked PDF exports. PRO removes these limits. Specific limits may change over time.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, branding, logos, text, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or other proprietary materials.
9. Third-Party Services
UppScanner relies on third-party services (including Supabase, Anthropic, Google, Telnyx, RevenueCat, and Firebase). Your use of the App may also be subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that OCR, AI, or fax results will be accurate.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
13. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the App unlawfully. Upon termination, the licenses granted to you end, though provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction, except where local consumer protection law provides otherwise.
