Privacy Policy
OneTake · Last updated: August 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OneTake ("OneTake", "we", "us"), an AI teleprompter and video recording app published by MobileUpp, handles your information. By using OneTake you agree to the practices described here.
Your scripts and your videos stay on your device. OneTake writes recordings to your device's storage and, with your permission, to your photo gallery. We do not upload, store, or have access to your recordings, and your scripts are never sent to our servers unless you ask the AI writer to draft one.
1. Information We Process
- Scripts you create. Scripts you write or generate are stored locally on your device (in the app's own storage). They are not uploaded to our servers.
- Camera & microphone. Used only while the teleprompter is open, for recording or for hands-free mode. Video and audio are captured and encoded on-device. In hands-free mode the camera preview is analysed on-device, frame by frame, purely to detect your hand gestures — those frames are never stored, never saved to a file and never transmitted.
- Recordings. Saved takes are stored in the app's documents folder and, if you allow photo-library access, copied to your gallery. Gallery access is requested as add-only — the app can add your take, not read your existing photos.
- Account data. The app signs you in anonymously (a random user identifier) so remote configuration and subscription state can work; no personal information is needed. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a user identifier and, where you permit it, your name and email address.
- AI script generation. If you use the AI writer, the brief you enter (topic, tone, platform, target length, language) is sent over an encrypted connection to our backend and from there to our AI model provider to generate the script text. Briefs are processed to answer that single request; they are not linked to advertising profiles and are not used to train models. If the service is unavailable, the app composes a draft entirely offline instead.
- Purchase data. Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. Our subscription partner (RevenueCat) receives the purchase receipt and an app user id to keep your PRO status in sync across your devices. We never see or receive your card details.
- Usage & diagnostics. Aggregated analytics and crash reports (device model, OS version, app version, error traces, screen and feature events) help us find bugs and improve the app.
- Push notifications. If you enable notifications, we store the device push token so we can deliver them. You can revoke this at any time in your device settings.
- Advertising identifiers. The free version shows ads and may use device advertising identifiers. On iOS we ask for your permission through App Tracking Transparency before any tracking takes place; if you decline, ads are served non-personalised.
2. Permissions We Ask For
| Permission | Why | Optional? |
| Camera | Record your take and detect hands-free gestures | Required for recording |
| Microphone | Record audio with your take | Required for recording |
| Photo library (add only) | Save the finished take to your gallery | Optional — takes still stay in the app |
| Notifications | Product updates and reminders | Optional |
| App Tracking Transparency (iOS) | Personalised ads in the free version | Optional |
3. Service Providers
We rely on trusted providers who process limited data on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication, remote configuration and the AI drafting endpoint.
- Anthropic — the AI model that turns your brief into a script.
- Google Firebase — analytics, crash reporting and push notifications.
- Google AdMob — advertising in the free version.
- RevenueCat — subscription management.
- Apple / Google — app distribution and in-app purchases.
Some of these providers operate servers outside your country. Where data leaves your region, it is transferred under the safeguards those providers offer (such as standard contractual clauses).
4. How We Use Information
- To provide the teleprompter, recording, hands-free and AI features.
- To manage your subscription and unlock PRO features.
- To apply free-tier limits (daily recording minutes, daily AI drafts, saved-script count) — these counters are kept on your device.
- To keep the app secure, diagnose crashes and improve performance.
- To show ads in the free version.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share your scripts or recordings with anyone. We share information only with the service providers listed above, or where required by law.
6. Data Retention
Scripts, recordings and quota counters live on your device and are removed when you delete them in the app or uninstall it. Account data is kept while your account is active and is deleted on request — see Account Deletion. Diagnostics and crash reports are retained by our providers for a limited period under their own retention policies.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Tracking consent can be withdrawn at any time in your device settings. To exercise your rights, contact us at support@mobileupp.com; we respond within 30 days.
8. Security
All traffic between the app and our backend uses HTTPS/TLS. Content that never leaves your device — your scripts and takes — is protected by your device's own security and by the app's private storage.
9. Children
OneTake is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where required, announced in the app.
